The client

ISEP Bands has been the ISEP music society since 2010. It brings together students who play in bands, from rock and jazz to metal and electro, and it organises concerts, jams and rehearsals throughout the year.

It needed a website that makes people want to join, and also a real tool to run the bands day to day, so that the committee can manage everything in one place.

Discover ISEP Bands

Three spaces

The website is split into three levels that share the same data, from the visitor discovering the society to the committee that keeps it running.

  1. Space 1, The public showcase

The bands, the events, the society and its committee, to make students want to join ISEP Bands, in French and in English.

  2. Space 2, The members area

Everyone manages their profile and their bands there, looks for missing instruments, prepares setlists with YouTube and Spotify, and follows their events in their calendar.

  3. Space 3, The back office

The committee manages members, bands, venues, equipment and email campaigns there, with permissions that follow the roles of the society, from the presidency to alumni.

The back office

The board runs the whole association from a single dashboard: members, bands, events, venues, equipment and email campaigns. Each page only opens to the roles that need it.

Member details and equipment details are blurred.

The technology

The website is built with Next.js 15 and React 19 in strict TypeScript. The data lives in MySQL and goes through Prisma, Redis serves as a cache and rate-limits the public routes, and login relies on signed tokens.

It is bilingual without duplicating a single page, ticketing goes through HelloAsso, and the tracks of the setlists are found through the Spotify and YouTube APIs.

The website knows every member, every band and every event, and it keeps everything in a database, so that nobody has to maintain a spreadsheet on the side.

It can be read in French or in English, tickets for a concert can be bought without leaving the site, and a track can be added to a band’s setlist by searching for it as on Spotify.

One page, one mood

Every page has its own backdrop, an amplifier for the bands, the school building for the society, a concert poster for the Starry Night, while keeping the same purple and the same menu.
